LADY MARY SEYMOUR 1548 - ????

After Henry VIII died, his sixth wife, Dowager Queen Katherine Parr married Thomas Seymour, a man she truly loved and wanted for a husband. After 3 childless marriages (and 3 marriages of duty) what excitement that they had a daughter, Mary, in August 1548! Tragically Katherine Parr died a few days later of "child bed fever".

An inventory done in the summer of 1549 (Weir, 2001) contained an inventory for Lady Mary Seymour’s effects, which included “a quilt for the cradle” and “three more quilts”. Historically, Mary disappears from sight soon after this, and the assumption is that she died young.
